Archive taxonomy
How categories are assigned
Labels are directional context for filtering — they describe observed behavior patterns, not legal judgments. Undefined covers entries where attribution is partial or contested.
White-Hat
Authorized security researchers who test systems and disclose flaws responsibly.
Red-Hat
Vigilante operators who counter black-hat infrastructure with offensive tactics.
Gray-Hat
Independent actors who probe without clear permission but may still pursue disclosure.
Cyber-Terrorist
Ideology-driven attackers using cyber operations to intimidate populations or coerce states.
Black-Hat
Malicious intruders pursuing theft, fraud, disruption, or unauthorized control.
Undefined
Evidence is limited or conflicting, so no single category can be assigned reliably.
